Greg St. Cyr
Founder and director of Tamarind. He and his wife served as a global missionary in Eastern Europe for many years. For the last quarter of a century he has served in pastoral ministry, traveling extensively around the world to further the work of missions.
Casely Essamuah
Born in Ghana, Rev. Dr. Casely Essamuah (ord. Meth Ch., Ghana; B.A., Univ of Ghana, Legon; M.Div, HDS; ThD., BUSth) is Secretary of the Global Christian Forum. He has studied and worked in Africa, Belgium and the US. A reflective practitioner of his faith, he is a bi-cultural bridge-builder, straddling the spheres of the global South and North, while working in missions, ecumenism, the church and the academy.
Phillip Helms
Phillip is a business leader in his community and has had the opportunity to serve on church staff and well as lead in the financial services arena. Phillip has a passion for global missions and has lead many global teams to be on mission with Jesus. Phillip has 25 plus years of global missions experience and encourages every Christian to be involved in Global missions.
Paula Halvorson
From childhood, Paula has had a heart for missions. Though God’s plan for her led to life as a military wife and mother, her passion for God’s kingdom growth has never waned. She has spoken internationally to women’s groups and taught locally in Bible studies, looking for how God can use her wherever she is through her more than 25 moves. Paula has traveled to South America, Africa, the Caribbean and Eastern Europe for Kingdom purposes. She has served on several boards, including Officers Christian Fellowship and Olive Branch International and founded the EXSEL Internship program at White Sulphur Springs.
Brian Sears
Brian has been part of a family owned engineering company in northern Virginia for over 30 years. Brian has served and attended Bay Area Church for over 25 years. He strongly Believes in global missions and their importance in the furtherance of the Word of God. Brian Believes that by donating to global missions Christians can feel the joy of fulfilling the Great Commission.
In Memoriam
Peter Pfeiffer, one of the founding Board members of Tamarind Inc. went to be with the Lord on November 25, 2022. Peter’s passion for sharing the gospel and his hope in Jesus was monumental and evident to all who knew him. The Tamarind Board is honored to have him serve his precious time to further the commitment of taking the gospel to the nations.
