GHANA

Scripture Union Ghana (SU Ghana) is the largest evangelical para-church organization in Ghana and has been in the country since 1890. 

Working in partnerships with churches, Scripture Union Ghana aims to:

make God’s Good News known to children, young people, 

and families, and encourage people of all ages to meet 

God daily through Bible reading and prayer

so that people come to faith, grow in maturity, and become committed church members and servants of a world in need.

Some of the ministries of SU include: 

* Producing and distributing bible study guides

* evangelizing and discipling children and youth in the schools

* hosting over 17,000 children and young people at summer camps and training conferences.

* hosting short term mission teams throughout Ghana

Ongoing Needs

Scripture Union (SU) reaches out to more than 200 children in deprived communities through programs called Christmas Community Missions. Your gift of $15 will help one impoverished child experience the love of Jesus at this camp. Every year during the Christmas season, this camp is held in 6-10 rural communities, where children are provided with food, clothing and spiritual guidance. Your gift of $3,000 will host 200 children.

SU has 10 branch offices across the country and is in need of laptops for effective ministry. Your gift of $500 will provide one laptop. A total gift of $5,000 would provide 10 laptops for all branch offices. 

SU staff need trucks to travel across the country to preach the gospel in schools and communities in remote areas. The cost of a used truck is $25,000. Your gift of any amount will contribute to the acquisition of a ministry truck. 

Every year over 2,000 students participate in spiritual leadership training throughout Ghana at Training Conferences. Your gift of $25 will enable a student to attend and be dramatically impacted for Christ. A gift of $250 will sponsor 10 students.
